Business Idea: How To Start An Online Bookstore Blog

Have you ever wanted or dreamed of owning your own online bookstore? Well, that dream can become a reality. There are many ways to start your own online bookstore. The methods that I will address here are the FREE methods. Nobody loves FREE more than I do.

One way is to create a blog and feature many books and/or authors. You could create a blog that provides a service such as where to buy the cheapest priced books and include links that will be provided to you by the bookstores that you sign up for as an affiliate.

Let's say you decide to do a blog on books. You could call it the "Books of the Month Blog" or "Author of the Month" where you discuss books in many different subjects, genres types or by many different authors. The possibilities are endless!  You can become an affiliate with a few online booksellers and have links in your blog for each of the books that you are spotlighting that will take the reader right to the book on the booksellers web site that will generate income for you if the reader decides to purchase it.

This method will take a little work monthly, but you can rake in monthly income using this method and all it will cost you is time. The bookseller will process all the credit card payments and do all the shipping. All you have to do is a little creative writing about the books or the authors that you are featuring on your blog site, and marketing on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.

Here are some booksellers that you can check out and sign up for free with their affiliate program. Be sure to click on the button that says "Skip Ad" if you do not wish to see it:

1. Amazon - Varies
2. Barnes and Noble - 6% Commission
3. Audiobooks - Generous
4. Family Christian Books - 6% Commission
5. AbeBooks - 5% Commission
7. Alibris - 5% Commission
8. Books-A-Million - 5% Commission

These are just a few examples of online booksellers who will give you the tools that you need to start selling books. Some of them also sell items other than books, so if you generate a customer from your blog site who decides to buy something other than or including a book, you will earn a commission off of that sale as well and possibly at a higher commission rate.

If you decide to set up this type of site, be sure to return and leave a comment letting me know that you have and be sure to include the link so that all the readers of this blog can see it. You might generate new followers and customers from this site.

Until the next post,
