In this post we will look at starting a business based on transportation. As I mentioned in previous posts, the first step is to create your web site (free) or your blog (free).
For this business idea, you can set up a site or blog based on your town such as Chicago or Portland, just for example. Your site or blog could include the hottest spots in town that many people frequent. You can also include upcoming events, such as concerts or plays, and sporting events. Make sure that you provide information for tourists as well as those who currently live in the vicinity of the place or places you are basing your site or blog on.
Create tabs for restaurants, hotels, and night clubs listing the places that stand out. You can also create a tab for events and allow people to submit events to your site for the calendar. Under the transportation tab, you can have your affiliate for limousine service. For this business idea, I recommend Airportservice.com for generating income. They pay on a per lead basis and their name is nowhere in sight on your page, in fact it will be generic and look as though it is a part of your site and a service that you are offering. Customers never leave your site when they request a quote for service. Once they submit the quote, it is then sent to up to four limousine companies that are registered with the limousine service. So, one quote request will generate the lead price times four. See an example here of how the page will look.
Here is how they pay for leads generated from your site:
This can become a very lucrative business if market your blog or site in the right places. I worked for a limousine company and the high quote request seasons are weddings, bachelor parties, bachelorette parties, and proms. If you decide to do this type of business, you may want to include information for your customers about checking for quotes for these types of life events.
As always, if you do decide that this type of business is for you, be sure to come back and post your testimony and share how well you are doing and what creative ideas you may have added to generate additional income from the site as well as how you are marketing it. Until Next Time,
